The Spring 2016 Dress Edit

Spring is here – hooray!

I cannot tell you how happy I am to finally be out of the depths of winter.

It’s been a long, cold, rainy season and I’m hanging for warmth and sunshine… and dresses!

Anyone that knows me knows my love of the humble frock. It’s an instant outfit. One that you can just pop on and go with little effort and minimal accessories. Speaking of which – you’ll notice I’m wearing the same pair of heels throughout this post. That’s because each of these dresses can easily be styled with a neutral pair of heels, but I wanted to show how a fun and unexpected pop of colour – such as coral – can work with several different items of clothing.

So with all of that in mind, I thought I’d share 3 of my current favourite spring dresses with you…

The Short Wrap Dress

A fresh take on the classic wrap dress, this little number is reversible. Wear the navy side to work and the white side on the weekend. That’s two dresses for the price of one! Made from soft cotton and silk blend fabric, it features a gathered shoulder detail, high waist line and a flared skirt – all of which create a flattering, feminine look. To complete this ensemble, I’ve opted for delicate jewellery in tones of rose gold.

The Animal Print Dress

My love of leopard print isn’t exactly a secret, but I’m loving this lighter, spring-like take on my favourite print. This dress features a high choker collar and peephole frontwith a V neckline. It has a relaxed fit with an elastic drawstring waist to maintain shape, plus the skirt has pockets. Yes, pockets! This dress would be perfect for the spring racing carnival, dinner or night out on the town.

The Floral Maxi Dress

The floral maxi dress is everywhere at the moment, in many and various forms. Personally, being a little on the shorter side (161cm tall), I’m loving this gorgeous floaty number with the split at the front. It means I can literally wear any shoe height without worrying about stepping on the dress. This frock is lined and also features split sleeves and pockets. A beautiful choice for a spring wedding or party.
