The Cold Shoulder Top

Well, hello there!

Here I am, back on the blog with the first post for 2017.

And I’m ever so glad to be back.

To kick things off for the year, I thought I’d share a favourite outfit I’ve been rocking for the past few weeks.

The cold shoulder trend is a hot commodity this summer. Basically, it’s an off the shoulder number with thin straps to help keep everything in place. This chiffon top from Motto is a beautiful example of the trend, with a bell shaped sleeve, elastic banding at the top and a comfortable fit. I’ve worn it with shorts, tailored pants, distressed denim and – as you can see in the photos below – with these fabulous foil jeans (also from Motto).

The jeans are made from a stretch denim with elasticised waist and a gorgeous foil print texture.

To complete the look, I’ve opted for a comfortable pair of black strappy heels and my favourite lipstick.

I like the cold shoulder trend more than off the shoulder as I might be able to get away with having noticeably uneven shoulders whilst sporting it. The top you’re wearing is cute btw!

This is what makes it such a great style – it shows just the right amount of skin without giving all our secrets away!

I love the cold shoulder look with thin straps. I love off the shoulder too but struggle to find a decent strapless bra that supports and is comfy! Plus I get paranoid a certain toddler will pull it down when I pick him up 😂😂

Amy, I have a 10DD bust and swear by the Intimo Everyday Convertible Bra (which I wear ‘normal’ and also strapless). Having said that, I don’t have a toddler, so … cold shoulder all the way!

Love this top on you .. headed straight to the website to check out! Happy New Year, Sonia! Wishing you much love, happiness and peace for the coming year.

Love these tops too especially longer sleeves. Very flattering. However, polyester or synthetic fabrics I avoid. Just too hot. Point me in the direction of cottons any day.
