The start of a new season inevitably means new fashion trends.
This summer is no different.
The trends have well and truly hit the shops and there’s a mix of old favourites and new styles to try.
I’ve rounded up 5 summer fashion trends that will suit just about everyone and every budget.
Take a look…
Summer trend to try: Stripes
Stripes are a staple. A classic print that never seems to go out of style – or out of stock. This summer, why not try stripes in a different colour or in a different piece of clothing you wouldn’t normally opt for. Mix your stripes with plain neutrals, pops of colour or pattern clash with floral or spots.
Summer trend to try: Ruffles
This trend is for the frill seeker. Ruffles are a delightfully girly detail that up the pretty factor of a piece. Frills not only add texture, but they draw the eye to that particular area of the body – so perfect for enhancing or distracting. Create a contrasting look by pairing your ruffled piece with a more structured, tailored item.
Summer trend to try: Gingham
Gingham has made a comeback this summer. A sweet alternative to stripes or spots, gingham is cool and comfortable – and a little bit country. Why not try it in a different style, such as this playsuit, full skirt or layered cami. Yee ha, cowgirl!
Summer trend to try: Cold Shoulder
As I shared in yesterday’s post, the cold shoulder is the hottest trend for summer. The cut-out detail on the shoulders adds an interesting element and is a more comfortable way to rock the off shoulder look. Add it to your casual and corporate wardrobes alike.
Summer trend to try: Florals
While we normally associate floral as a trend for spring, it’s very much on the scene this summer. Think floaty floral dresses, skirts, kimonos and more. I’m totally digging this floral bomber jacket with its contrasting stripe detail for the perfect pretty/tough look.
