Spring dresses to buy now

Bring on spring!

I know, I know. Just the other day I was telling you that I wasn’t wishing winter away just yet, but this past week I’ve been so sick and the weather has been so dreary.

I’m craving sunshine! And warmth! And pretty dresses!

There’s less than a month left of winter {seriously, how did it become August all of a sudden?!} which means we are most definitely on the home straight. It also means that spring fashion is hitting stores as we speak.

While many of us will continue to shiver our way through the next few weeks, there’s absolutely no reason why we can’t start thinking about the pieces we’d like to add to our warm weather wardrobe. Items we can wear without a coat, tights, beanie, gloves…

For me, it’s always about dresses.

There are two styles in particular that are getting me excited for spring – the wrap dress and the dress with sleeve detail.

The wrap dress

The wrap dress is a classic. A universally flattering frock that never goes out of style. My pick? Opt for one with short sleeves and a floral print to really celebrate the season. And try a colour you wouldn’t normally choose. I don’t have much purple in my wardrobe (read: none) but this shade is surprisingly versatile and complimentary.

The sleeve detail dress

Another huge trend? Sleeves. Who knew the humble sleeve could be so cool?! I’m loving a flared sleeve and I’m also loving layered sleeves. They add an interesting element without adding too much bulk. My biggest piece of advice with this trend is to try on different types of sleeve detail. Find what you’re most comfortable with, what suits your lifestyle and flatters your figure.
