3 party dresses under $100

I like to step outside of my comfort zone as often as possible.

And yes, this even applies to fashion!

Recently, I decided to challenge myself and shop somewhere I’d never shopped before. An online retailer I thought only suitable for cute, perky, young things. Not 34-year-old women like me who like to hide certain parts of their body (*ahem, midriff*).

“Challenge accepted!” I said to myself as I clicked onto…

“You can find something. You’ve got this.”

Seeing as we are headed full pelt into party season, I decided to try and find 3 x dresses under $100.

Here’s what I found…

The Cute + Casual Dress

This little number would be a great choice for a casual catchup at the pub or a poolside BBQ. Fun, flirty and with a skater dress vibe to it, I must admit it took me back to my younger days and the styles of dresses I used to wear. I love the off the shoulder cut with attached sleeves, which make for an interesting detail. The pop of red is also perfect for the festive season, so it could be a winner for a relaxed Christmas Day at home.

The Ladylike Dress

What can I say? I’m a sucker for a floral print. And don’t get me started on pleats! This gorgeous frock combines both with a tie waist and plunging neckline to amp up the vamp. Note: you could totally wear a cami underneath or have the neckline stitched for that extra layer of insurance. Unless a nip slip is on the Christmas wish list…! Add a neutral pair of strappy heels or wedges – or jazz it up with a bright heel for a pop of colour. This one will be a fabulous go-to for any festive season occasion.

The Knockout Dress

High voltage alert! I love this dress for a few reasons: the colour, the sleeves and the detail. It literally has it all going on. This one is more daring than the other two, so would be ideal for a romantic date night or a party where the dress code calls for a fabulous cocktail frock. Again, this dress has a plunging neckline, so it’s not for the fainthearted. Or work functions. Unless you’re after a promotion… KIDDING! My husband loves this number, so that says it all really…

So why did I carry out this fashion experiment?

It wasn’t to single out one particular retailer, but I did want to show you that you shouldn’t limit yourself when shopping.

Especially when it comes to age.

I think so many of us tell ourselves that we can’t shop somewhere because we’re “too” this or “not enough” that.

I call bullshit! Shop wherever the clothes make you feel good about yourself. And hold your head high.

Life’s too short. Let’s wear fabulous frocks and party like it’s 1999!

I couldn’t agree more. I think we all get stuck in a rut when choosing clothes, and shopping at the same stores. Good to mix it up a bit!
I love all these dresses! Can I ask where the tan heels are from ? They seem to be a great all purpose shoe! Thanks Sonia, keep up the inspiring work!!

Oooo I LOVE the Pink Floral Midi. I’ve got a garden party wedding in Perth in March and I feel like this would be perfect- thanks for sharing your finds! And that red dress looks just lovely on you! x
