High Tea at The Flying Trunk

Ever done something you previously haven’t done in such a long time and then you realise how lovely it is and wonder why you hadn’t done it sooner?

That was me. Last weekend. Sunday afternoon to be precise.

The gorgeous owners of our local cocktail bar, The Flying Trunk, (who have become great friends) invited my husband and me to their High Tea.

Walking into the whimsical venue, I felt like Alice in Wonderland. Each table was laid out with a beautiful tea set in different colours and we were seated at the Pink Table. Totally appropriate… well for me anyway!

{Props to my husband for being the very first male to attend High Tea at The Flying Trunk. Fellas, get on board!}

Proceedings kicked off with a glass of refreshing Prosecco followed by all the tea you can drink. The first course was a savoury affair with a mix of delectable canapés and finger sandwiches. To conclude, a tray of sweets tantalised our eyes as well as our tummies, with mini tiramisu, scones, salted caramel macarons and mini tarts including a banoffee pie.

It was just such a lovely way to end the weekend and it was something I’d love to do more often.

And if you take a look at my photos, I think you’ll agree that I (and those of you in Adelaide) should definitely do just that…

High Tea at The Flying Trunk is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 3-5pm, however the next one will be held on Sunday 13 December 2015.

It costs $45 per person and includes a glass of bubbles on arrival, all the tea you can drink, a savoury course and a sweet course.

You can book your place by calling 0413 131 330 and you keep up to date with all things ‘Trunky’ via their Facebook page.

Have you done something extra lovely for the first time in a long time?

Have you attended a High Tea recently?

{Note: we were invited as guests of The Flying Trunk, but I chose to write about our experience. All opinions are my own. And we paid for extra Prosecco because it was so damn good.}

    Love treating myself to a high tea .. the perfect excuse to catch up with friends and drink bubbly at 10am in the morning!! Love the tea set they use at the Flying Trunk! I actually own it at home – as soon as I saw the name of the tea set (Gabrielle) I just knew I had to purchase it! xx
