I’ve only ever been called “remarkable” once before today.
It was my 21st birthday and my then boyfriend (now husband) said that I was “a remarkable girl” during his speech.
I’m surprised I even remember that, let alone much else of the night. I had downed quite a few glasses of pink champagne, danced until my feet hurt and most probably grabbed a cheeseburger on the way home.
But I digress.
Today marks the second time in my life the word “remarkable” is being used in the same sentence as me, some nine years after the first.
And while it’s not being said by my husband in this instance, it is related to my other great love…
Today I officially join The Remarkables Group.
(I can’t quite believe I’ve just written that sentence. Can someone pinch me? OUCH! Not that hard…)
I feel like I’ve been picked to join the coolest sporting team, which for a totally non-sporty girl like myself, is equal parts exciting, bewildering and amusing.
What does make it incredibly special though is that my teammates are bloggers I’ve long read and admired, and to be considered worthy to even sit on the bench in the same arena as them is blowing my mind.
I’m seeing today as the start of a brand new chapter.
One that will see me taking steps along a path I’ve only ever dreamed of treading before – towards a future of becoming a full time blogger.
What this means for me is that the awesome team at The Remarkables Group will be working harder than the towel kids at the Australian Open on a 40-degree Melbourne day to make exciting opportunities a reality for this blog. It will free up more of my time to concentrate on writing great posts, taking better photos, styling more outfits and enjoying longer Happy Hours.
What this means for you is that mostly nothing will change around here. It will still be 100% me and you hanging out and having a chat. The sponsored content will still be totally relevant and stuff we’re interested in. And you will hopefully also enjoy longer Happy Hours.
So there you have it!
My big news wrapped up with a sparkly bow.
How I’ve managed to tie my 21st birthday party, sporting analogies and blogging into one blog post, I’ll never know.
But what I do know is that I’m feeling like the luckiest little blogger around right now.
Thank you for supporting me, my dreams and this blog.
I can’t wait to see where the journey takes us next.
