What Sonia Wore: Two Celebrations, Two Dresses

I had the biggest Sunday I’ve had in quite a while last weekend!

The day started off with a beautiful baby shower for my cousin-in-law.

Brunch at a beachside restaurant called for a relaxed yet stylish ensemble – which for me always translates to a dress.

A dress is an instant outfit and I was so excited to wear this stunning Estella frock from the fabulous Australian online store, Feather & Noise (I’m wearing a size 8). Sadly, the black has sold out (you guys pounced on it so fast!) but it is still available in a gorgeous jade green… which I also want to get my hands on, just quietly!

I completed my outfit with a pair of statement turquoise earrings (a fabulous Mimco bargain I scored on my birthday last year) and my favourite Sportsgirl tan wedges.

After the baby shower, it was a quick dash home to get changed into my second outfit for the day.

It was our second wedding anniversary and we had a lunch booking at a fantastic new rooftop restaurant/bar in Adelaide called 2KW. Neither of us had been there before and we were super excited at the prospect of a long lunch on a glorious Autumnal day.

I amped up the glam factor by debuting a Review dress I had scored on sale a couple of months ago – and was waiting for this very day to wear.

I finished off my outfit with some blingy ear cuffs from Colette and my wedding shoes from Forever New. Yes, my actual wedding shoes I wore on that one magical day two years ago. What can I say? I’m a hopeless romantic!

Gorgeous dresses, and bling, and shoes… oh heck I love the lot!!! No, I haven’t celebrated anything lately but I do have a garden wedding to attend at the end of April and a semi formal dinner afterwards. Any suggestions for a petite size 6 – 8, brown eyed, fair skin, wobbly in heels and pushing a wheelchair type guest? Me? Xx Happy Anniversay!

Sandra, if you want to really spoil yourself, I can never go past a Review dress (http://www.review-australia.com/). They have sales all the time, so you can usually score a bargain. In fact, right now they have a spend and save sale on! If you’re wobbly in heels, you can always wear a lovely jewelled sandal or cute ballet flats, or a wedge heel if you want a bit of height. Hope this helps!

Sonia thank you so much for the tip. How beautiful are Review dresses? I have ordered the below (check out link) on Sale so all up, postage and handling, $98.95. I’m really about a size 7 but depending on the generosity of cut I can get away with a size 8. This dress is perfect for me because I never know how nasty my skin is going to be (eczema), so this will help cover up a little.

May I stretch the friendship a little more and ask if I could get away with white shoes? I’m not sure. I quite like the nude coloured shoes with navy.

I’m excited for it to turn up in the mail now! Thanks again.

Ooh la la, Sandra! What a beautiful dress. You are going to look stunning! You could get away with white shoes or metallic (gold or silver) or nude. I’m quite partial to a nude shoe, as it elongates the leg (especially good if you’re wearing a low heel or wedge). x

Thanks so much Sonia! We’ve been advised by the wedding party to wear flats to the garden wedding as we will be tottering or sinking into the grass with heels and then switch to heels (if we want) for the reception and dinner at the other venue. Great idea! Even better, I already have flat jewelled white shoes and some white heels I don’t get to wear very often, so I’m sorted. Thanks so much for your tips which has really helped keep the price down for me. I’m wrapped! I’ll shoot you a pic of the day 😉
